Whatever you're booking in for - a trim, a total change, or your child's first proper cut - every appointment at The Establishment starts the same way: with a full consultation before we touch your hair. Rule one at this salon has always been simple: never touch a client's hair without asking first. We'll ask you to tell us about your hair, what you're hoping for, and about your lifestyle - because a client with a 6am–9pm day isn't going to want a daily hour-long styling routine, however good it looks on day one.
We'll always ask what you dislike as much as what you like, we'll assess your hair's texture and condition honestly, and we're not afraid to say no to something that won't work for your hair - because you are our billboard, and if it doesn't look good leaving the salon, it won't look good after your first home wash without a professional finish. You'll be shown your options and told plainly what is and isn't realistic before we begin, and we'll check in again after the basin in case you've changed your mind.

Cut by Ross - 50+ years' experience
Ross's career began in London in the 1970s, giving him over 50 years of hands-on experience shaped by design, art, fashion and music. He specialises in seamless texture - cuts that work equally well worn straight or with movement - and his expertise is all precision cutting, no matter the texture. He's been nominated Southern Hairdresser of the Year twice and UK Art Team of the Year once.

Trained under Ross, Ben has spent 15 years cutting hair in Farnham and joined The Establishment in early 2019.
