Lived-In Colour in Farnham

What Is Lived-In Colour

Colour that grows with you, not against you

Lived-in colour is a softer, more natural approach to lightening than traditional highlights. Instead of a uniform pattern of foils that creates a visible regrowth line within weeks, colour is placed to mimic the way hair naturally lightens - richer and deeper near the root, softer and brighter towards the ends. The result grows out gracefully, so you're not racing back to the salon the moment your roots show.

That makes it a genuinely low-maintenance option, and one that suits a busy lifestyle: fewer urgent appointments, less obvious regrowth between visits, and colour that still looks intentional on week eight as it did on day one.

Senior Stylist & Colour Director

Lived-in colour with Lisa B

Lisa B specialises in lived-in colour, balayage and Californian blondes at The Establishment. She started her career in California before relocating to the UK, and it's that Californian blonde background - soft, sun-warmed, low-maintenance colour - that underpins her approach to lived-in colour here in Farnham. With nearly 20 years in hair, including a senior role at a prestigious Windsor salon and work as a colourist on Marvel film productions, Lisa brings a precise, considered eye to where colour should sit and how it should fade.

How We Protect Your Hair

Goldwell colour, built for hair integrity

All lived-in colour work is carried out using Goldwell colour technology - professional lightener and colour formulated with hair integrity built in, so lightening doesn't come at the cost of condition. All chemicals used in the salon are vegan. As with our full colour menu, a colour allergy test is a legal requirement 48 hours before your appointment, and we'll help you get that booked in.

Pricing for lived-in colour is given at consultation, based on your hair's length, thickness and current colour. New clients get 20% off their first visit, and students get 15% off with valid ID.

FAQs

Lived-In Colour Questions, Answered

Is lived-in colour the same as balayage?

They're closely related but not identical. Balayage describes the hand-painted technique used to place colour, while "lived-in colour" describes the overall low-maintenance, natural-growing-out result - which is very often achieved using balayage. Lisa B specialises in both, and can talk you through the best approach for your hair at consultation.

Do I need an allergy test before lived-in colour?

Yes - a colour allergy test is a legal requirement 48 hours before your appointment, and we'll help you get that booked in.
